The Vintner Restaurant is a perfect setting for any occasion. Ideally situated in the heart of Whitby, The Vintner offers fresh innovative cuisine, an excellent wine list and inviting decor which blends old and new in a delightful way, creating a warm and friendly atmosphere. The restaurant is owned & run by chef David J. Bottomley. David has spent the last 20 years in the Hotel, Pub & restaurant trade and has used the time to gather knowledge of delicious recipes from many parts of this country and abroad.

David is keen to ensure that every meal reaches the highest standards.Though he spends most of his time in the kitchen he also likes to talk to his customers in order to make sure you receive five star service!

Relax and enjoy a delicious meal and fine wine while taking in the personal touches such as fresh flowers, stylish rugs, drapes, candles, gentle lighting and individual hand towels, which aim to make your evening meal (or lunchtime break) special.

The service is friendly and courteous with all staff trained to the highest standards. The Vintner aims for complete satisfaction of all patrons.

All meals are cooked to order from fresh ingredients as the resulting flavours and aromas will testify. The menu changes regularly and fresh specials are available daily. Fresh seafood varies according to availability but the house special, fresh Whitby lobster, is kept alive in a tank on the premises to be cooked to your liking: whether grilled with olive oil, garlic & king prawns, Thermidor or cold with a salad.
